We all envy Korean women their dense, dark hair and flawless, porcelain-like skin. The first is not so much their achievement but genes but the beautiful skin is something Korean women work hard to have. The good news is that we can do it too. How? Let us explain below what Korean beauty routine is and what its steps are.
The four steps of Korean beauty routine:
- Cleanse
- Toner
- Hydration and nourishment and inhibiting aging
- Sun protection.
Korean beauty routine – step 1. Cleanse
There are three steps to skin cleanse. First is thorough makeup removal. You can use micellar water (which requires to be washed down afterwards), but even better is cosmetic based on natural oils. Cotton pads may cause irritations, so it is best to give them up. Instead, we recommend taking some of the cosmetic onto the palm of the hand and mix it with some water. Created this way emulsion use to clean face in circular motion, then wash your face with warm water.
After makeup removal, it is time to get rid of dirt, makeup residue and toxins. However, you should not do it too aggressively – no rubbing. It is not only the method that has great relevance at this stage, but also the product you choose as it needs to be gentle in order not to damage natural protective layer. Skin cleanse should be supported by gentle massage; two minutes of circular motion is sufficient. Another step in cleanse requires help in form of foam, gel or other product based on citrus, fruit extract and aloe, in the evening choose active charcoal and in the fall and the winter (due to less sun activity) – acids.
The last element in face cleanse is exfoliation. Choose out of enzymatic, chemical or mechanical scrub, but no more than once a week. You should consider choosing scrub with grape seed, rice, flax or aloe.
Face skin cleanse do in the morning and evening, just omit the first step in the morning.
Korean beauty routine – step 2. Toner
Toner is crucial in the everyday skincare because it restores pH after the cleanse. The cosmetic of choice spray on to the face and if it is not in the form of a spray then take some on the palm of the hand and apply using your fingers. Toner should contain aloe, green tea and plant extracts. Use it twice a day.
Korean beauty routine – step 3. Hydration and nourishment and inhibiting aging
The third step needs to be matched with your skin requirements. No two women have the same skin type, while one needs hydration, other – anti aging care. That is why, depending on the skin type you will choose essence, serum, ampule, cream, oil or face mask. Each enumerated cosmetic should contain natural oils (matching your skin type), plant extracts, snail slime, honey, coconut, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, cocoa, gold, wax or apitoxin.
This step includes eye area care. It goes also for the young Korean girls who prevent wrinkles but also eliminate puffiness and dark circles. In order to do that, they use cosmetics based on avocado, rice, green tea and aloe. The third step in Korean beauty routine perform twice a day.
Korean beauty routine – step 4. Sun protection
In the Korea, Japan and China tan is considered passe, therefore, each and every cream at their stores contains sun filter. The citizens of these countries wear sun protection all year long.
